Steel Pulse Honolulu Concert reviews
Barry is going out with a bang!
Steel Pulse's concert was fabulous, with the same wistful feelings of 40 years ago when I first started buying his albums, he sang strong. He sang as many of his greats as he could, even condensing into a medley to get in as many as possible. At the beginning of the concert, Steel Pulse said he couldn't sing everything or we would be there all night. His concert was fun, made me feel good throughout, and left me happy the rest of the night. I sometimes hesitate to buy concert tickets for the artists that I loved growing up because age (and smoking and alcohol and drugs) can take a toll. He showed that he's not going gently into that good night, although he may be doing one last tour. The audience members were given glow sticks on the way in, and my son and I waited until Steel Pulse came on to crack ours. He provided the words to Can't Smile Without You and had the audience stand and join in. Those are the ones I wished I had stuck with memories and CDs. Of course, the audience sang more than just that one song. However, it was incredible fun to swing them around and keep time to the music. I definitely didn't go home disappointed. What a night!
